Monjar (Japanese: ももんじゃ, Momonja) is a monster in Template:GameTitle. Monjar are a sort of chimera, sharing attributes of a playpunk, with their beak and limbs, and of a monkey, with their tail and fur. They also sport a distinctive mohawk.

Combat Strategy

Monjar have no special abilities but stand out among early monsters for their high Defense Power combined with their high HP making them overall bulkier. Even with their average Attack Power this gives them more opportunity to hit Torneko for higher Damage. Because of this, a low level Torneko with weak or no equipment can take quite a beating in a fight. However, items shouldn't be necessary to deal with them as long as the player follows basic combat strategy :

  • Avoid fighting other monsters along with the Monjar, fighting multiple monsters at once is in general a bad idea. To avoid getting into this kind of situation, if you enter a room with a Monjar and other awakened monsters, retreat to the tile right outside the room so you can take them down one by one.
  • If Torneko is at low HP, he can flee from the Monjar to regenerate health since this monster doesn't have Double Speed. This strategy shouldn't be abused with limited visibility, at the risk of being trapped in a hallway by another monster in front of Torneko and the Monjar behind.
  • After a fight, pass turns to regenerate health in a safe location so Torneko starts the next fight healthy.
