In the Mystery Dungeon games, there is a shop run a Kecleon who can sell items to the player in exchange for gold. They can be found hidden in dungeons.

Town Shop

In the town areas, there are shops that are run by kecleon who can provide items and sell it.

In Red and Blue Rescue Team and Rescue Team DX, the store is run by two Kecleon brothers, one of them being purple. The left side is for usual items you can find in dungeons, while the right side is for TM’s

When a player encounters one, they can get the chance to use some of the gold acquired in the dungeon to pick up items midway, they can also use this to sell objects by placing them on the ground or by swapping them.

When ones about to leave, kecleon will ask the player to pay up, if one refuses in Red/Blue Rescue Team and Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky you’ll be considered a their, where starting from Gates to Infinity, you will get the chance to put the items back. Any attempts to run off with items without paying will make you a their.
