Guide to Infinite Item Strengthening

This is a post-game guide as most of the items you will need have to be obtained early to mid post-game.

Requirements

Enter and clear the Tonfan Dungeon.

What you need

• Bufu's Staff [0]

You can return to the Tonfan Dungeon to try to obtain a Bufu's Staff. Bufu's Staves in the Tonfan Dungeon always spawn with 0 charges. Escape Scrolls start to spawn on the 21st floor.

• Doppleganger Staff

Next you will need to obtain a Doppleganger or a Staff of Happiness with several charges.

• Sanctuary Scroll.

Sanctuary scrolls are pretty common and you shouldn't have trouble finding several of them to pull off this method.

• Absorb Jar

Absorb Jars can be obtained in the Tonfan dungeon so you can probably find one along the way while you're trying to obtain a Bufu's Staff and an Escape Scroll.

Infinite Item Strengthening

Level 4 Pitcher Plant

After obtaining all the required items, head to the Jahannam Gate and climb to floors 6 - 9. Find a Pitcher Plant and drop a Sanctuary Scroll so it can't attack you. Use a Doppleganger Staff on other monsters until it levels up to level 4. Throw your Bufu's Staff [0] at it to add 5 charges to the staff. Use your Absorb Jar on the Strengthening Pitcher Plant and then kill it. Using the Absorb Jar will allow you to transform into a Strengthening Pitcher Plant and walk over your equipment, powering it up. Always use your final charge from the Absorb Jar from the floor and walk over it as the Strengthening Pitcher Plant and increase the number of slots again. Place a Sanctuary Scroll on the ground and throw the monster meat at a random monster to transform it. Throw your Bufu's Staff first so it won't run out of charges and then use your Absorb Jar to fill it back up again.

Using this method, as long as you have a Sanctuary Scroll and don't die and lose your items, you will be able to infinitely re-use these items to strengthen equipment. Normally this wouldn't be a great method to level up items. But due to the commonality of Sanctuary Scrolls in this game and the ability of the monster to turn any scroll into a Blank Scroll, this method becomes very viable.

Additional Method

If you bring an ally like Pekeji into the storehouse and surround him with Sanctuary Scrolls, you can throw the monster meat at him to have a safely contained monster. Using the above method to always use the final Absorb Jar charge on itself, you can continually re-absorb the monsters ability and have an infinite strengthening setup from the safety of your warehouse.

1. Recruit Pekeji and bring him to the warehouse.
2. Surround him with Sanctuary Scrolls.
3. Throw the Strengthening Pitcher Plant meat at him when he's standing in the center.
4. Use the Absorb Jar as many times as you can on the monster.
5. Place items on the ground you want to strengthen until you're down to one charge.
6. Place the Absorb Jar on the ground and use the final charge on itself to bring it back up to 5 charges.
7. Absorb the monsters ability 5 more times.
8. Continually strengthen your equipment using this method.
