The Main Story in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity is everything that happens before the credits of the game are shown to the player. It consists of several dungeons interrupted by story scenes. Occasionally, the player needs to complete some Jobs for a few in-game days before the story progresses. Other times, jobs can't be taken at all (outside of Companion Mode) and the player can only play the next story dungeon. Some dungeons can only be accessed at some points during the main story. It is followed by the Epilogue.
