In this game, you can find items with 3 statuses: Normal, Blessed, and Cursed. You will usually find items with normal status, but sometimes you can find cursed items or blessed items. There are Monsters and Jars that can curse or bless your items as well. You will see that an item is blessed if it has a bell in the left side of the name in the inventory. If it's cursed, it will have a skull instead, and the name of the item will be in red.

Reference Table

Item Category Blessed Cursed
Weapons Inflict 1.25x more damage. The Bless status can be removed with every attack you do. It will retain its special abilities (good and bad), but you can't unequip it.
Shields You will only take 0.75x damage from monster attacks. The Bless status can be removed with every hit you take. It will retain its special abilities (good and bad), but you can't unequip it.
Armbands It won't get the ヒビ status or break. The Bless status can be removed with every hit you take. It will retain its special abilities (good and bad), but you can't unequip it.
Projectiles Do 1,25 more damage. The Bless status will be removed if you pick up normal arrows of the same type, or when you use them. You can't use and unequip them. If you pick up normal arrows of the same type they will remove the curse status.
Riceballs Fill all your fullness (even Rotten Riceballs). If you eat them when you are full, they will increase the maximum value (double than normal Riceballs). You can't use them, if you throw them you will always do 2 damage to monsters.
Herbs Their effect is doubled, except the Antidote Herb (has no bonus), the Herb of Sight (identifies all items you pick up in that floor) and the Herb of Revival (loses the bless status but won't transform into weeds). You can't use them, if you throw them you will always do 2 damage to monsters.
Scrolls When you read them, won't disappear. The bless status may be removed every time you read one. You can't use them. Sanctuary Scroll won't work if you place it in the floor. If you throw them you will always do 2 damage to monsters.
Staves When you use them, the number of charges won't decrease. The Bless status may be removed when you swing one. You can't use them. Stability staves won't work if placed in the inventory. If you throw them to monsters, you will always do 2 damage to them.
Jars No special properties. You can't insert/remove items from them. The special properties of the Jar will not work while cursed. Example: Strengthening Jars will not increase the values of the items contained.
Monster Meat You can transform into a monster for more turns. You can't use them. If you throw them to monsters, you will always do 2 damage to them.
Traps Traps can't have the Blessed status. Traps can't have the Cursed Status.
