The Battle Spirit's (Japanese: 戦鬼) are the seventh bosses in the game. These are the spirits of the men who died in the attack on Princess Kaguya at the Temple in the past. They were lied to about (Ancestor) Shiren, being told that it was Shiren who had informed the Shogun about Kaguya's whereabouts, thus betraying her. Their hatred and regret kept them alive as vengeful Battle Spirits, cursing Shiren's bloodline and lineage, swearing to seek out revenge upon any of his children or relatives.
After their initial defeat, they tell Shiren that his battle has just begun before fading away. It is not until much later in the game that the spirits of these men learn the truth about being lied to.
