Scrolls (Japanese: 巻物) are a category of items in  Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 3 - The Sleeping Princess and the Karakuri Mansion. They are normally single-use magic items. You read them, they have an immediate, one-time magic effect, then they disappear. Reading them Item Identification that type in your current save file. The game doesn't directly tell you which scrolls you've read so you have to do so yourself. You can write any scroll you've ever read before (in any run) on a Blank Scroll to turn the Blank Scroll into the desired scroll. Soaked Scrolls and Blank Scroll don't have any effect and will be wasted when read. You don't need a copy of the desired scroll on hand, you can write a new copy from memory, and doing so doesn't take a turn either. This makes Blank Scrolls arguably the most powerful items in the game. You can carry a few with you, leaving them blank until you need them, and immediately react to any situation without losing a turn to write any scroll you need. Note also that this means that, the more different types of scrolls you have read, the easier all future runs become.
