Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer (Japanese: 不思議のダンジョン 風来のシレン) is the second series in the Mystery Dungeon franchise. Beginning in 1995 with the release of  Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer, a successor to  Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon, it was the first Mystery Dungeon game to feature original characters and locations, as opposed to being a spinoff to an already established series. The series usually takes place in a traditional Japanese setting, although elements from other cultures and times are also present occasionally. The stories are primarily centered around Shiren the Wanderer and his talking weasel companion, Koppa.
