Boss-type Monsters will always spawn on their set floors, floor 30 of Table Mountain for Tainted Insect, floors 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90 of Tainted Path for Tainted Soldier, floor 99 of Tainted Path for Tainted Queen, and floor 30 of Ceremonial Cave for King of the Kigny. They will only spawn initially, and only 1 of them - there is a limit of 1 Boss-type Monster per floor, though impossible to see in normal gameplay - and they will never spawn after turns pass. After having beaten the Boss-type Monster and clearing the adventure, they will not be spawned on subsequent adventures - in the case of Tainted Soldiers, they will continue to spawn on each of their designated floors until Tainted Path is cleared. Tainted Insect will always spawn on floor 30 of Table Mountain in Time Trial mode. Scroll of Removal is effective in defeating Boss-type Monsters, but, similar to its effect on Shop-based-type Monsters, Tainted Soldier will continue to spawn on its designated floors, despite being sealed away. Level 3 and 4 Skull Mage magic, Bufu's Cleaver and Bufu's Staff, also similar in effect to Shop-based-type Monsters, are ineffective in turning Boss-type Monsters into Monster Meat, a restriction possibly imposed due to the limit of 1 Boss-type Monster per floor.
