This page documents the various different releases of Shiren 5, their special editions, and their contents. The Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 5 - The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate Famitsu Deluxe Pack(UT) - This is an unofficial translation. (Japanese: 不思議のダンジョン 風来のシレン5 フォーチュンタワーと運命のダイス ファミ通DXパック) released on December 9, 2010 and was exclusive to ebten and cost 7,990 yen.[1][2]

Bargain-priced Chun Selection

The bargain-priced "Chun Selection" edition was released on December 15, 2011 in Japan for 2,480 yen (tax included).[3]

International - Eternal Wanderer Edition

Aksys Games and Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd collaborated to release the Shiren The Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate ETERNAL WANDERER EDITION on July 26, 2015.[4] It was exclusive to the Aksys Store, and included:

Shiren 5 2020 was released digitally on the Nintendo Switch and Steam.

Japanese

Players in Japan could purchase a physical Nintendo Switch copy of the game which came with the standard case, cover art, and game cart that all Switch games release with.

Japanese Collectors Edition

Players in Japan were able to purchase a Nintendo Switch collectors edition of Shiren 5 which came with the Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate - Compendium of Wonders & Ten Views of Wandering art book, and a Nintendo Switch copy of the game, housed in a large cardboard box.

International

Limited Run Games sold standard physical editions of Shien 5 for the Switch for a limited time, which included the game, case, and cover artwork.

On March 7, 2025, Video Games Plus announced on social media that they'd reprinted a new edition of Shiren 5 for the switch with a new UPC, and removed the Limited Run Games branding.[7][8][9] The carts were not updated to include the post-release patches and updates.[10][11][12]

International Collectors Edition

The International collector's edition of Shiren 5 released by Limited Run Games came in 2 formats; PC and Switch.

The Switch version came with a Mamel Stress Ball, Miracle Die, the Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate - Compendium of Wonders & Ten Views of Wandering art book, 3 art prints, and a Nintendo Switch copy of the game, housed in a large cardboard box, with a smaller box inside to hold the individual pieces of the edition. International players also had the opportunity to purchase a PC version.

The PC release was initially supposed to include a DRM-free disk release of the PC port instead of a physical Switch game, however, this was later walked back without telling purchasers.[13] This was reportedly due to the cost of developing a DRM-free version of the game.[14] After game reviewer "Seafoam Gaming" called out Limited Run Games on Twitter, Limited Run Games offered a 10$ refund or a return.[15] Due to the controversy this whole situation sparked, they later sent out a full refund to people who purchased the edition.[16] Jewel cases featuring artwork, but no game or disk were available to people who ordered the physical PC release via an email offer from Limited Run Games.[17][18] 60 copies of the PC release were said to have sold, making it the rarest Shiren edition by far.[19]

Smartphone

Shiren 5 SP was released digitally on Japanese Android and IoS devices.
