Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (Japanese: ポケモン不思議のダンジョン 空の探検隊, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Sky Exploration Team) is a Generation Ⅳ Pokémon spin-off game developed by Chunsoft and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company on Nintendo DS in 2009. It is the definitive edition of Explorers, the second game in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series.
Explorers of Sky is the first and so far only sister game to be released in the series. It features several additions such as Special Episodes, brand new locations and items, Shaymin, Origin Form Giratina, and more. The game later received a Wii U Virtual Console re-release in 2016.

With your trusted friend, you go on a grand adventure in a world full of Pokémon chock full of mysteries and fascinating challenges. Playing as this team, you'll search for treasures, solve mysteries, recruit new members, and rank up your team! Along the way you'll investigate why you turned into a Pokémon and uncover the truth surrounding the mysteries of time and darkness in this Pokémon world. Get ready to explore the far reaches of this world with your Pokémon friends and unravel its many secrets.[1]
Reception[edit | edit source]
While the games had a successful selling score, the rating for both games were generally underwhelmed by the media.
Following its selling, multiple anime adaptations, manga, goodies and strategy guides books were produced during the post-release of the games.
Sales[edit | edit source]
The success of the Explorers games held them in the record of the most sold games in the Mystery Dungeon series with a total of over 6 million copies worldwide: over 4.50 million from Explorers of Time & Darkness and over 1.40 million from Explorers of Sky.[2] It is followed by Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team & Blue Rescue Team (over 5.23 million copies worldwide)[3] and Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon (over 1.17 million copies worldwide).[4]
