The game was announced on May 15, 2023[1], released in Japan on December 15, 2023[2], and in the west on February 29, 2024, through the Square Enix Store, later becoming available for preorder on Amazon with the Amazon release being listed for June 19, 2024. The game uses meeples, cards and tokens. It can be played alone as well as cooperatively with other players. The goal of the game is to defeat one of the two bosses on the lowest floor, 4.[3] The rulebook is written in English, German, French, and Japanese.
Chocobo is lost in a mysterious dungeon! Work together to guide Chocobo to avoid monsters and traps, while gathering vegetables and items. Can you defeat the boss in the dungeon's depths and help Chocobo escape safely?
