It was released as a pre-order bonus for players who pre-ordered Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky at GameStop.

The anime, alongside others, was uploaded in 2015 for the reveal of Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, then re-uploaded on January 9, 2020, in the Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel for the reveal of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX.
